5 degrees Celsius and the veggie oil is now solid, winter is here and it's time for doing long needed improvements:
Ive got a Carroll Yanmar 406ccm clone with a keyed axle and need to know what else is needed to get this engine into the frame and coupled to the tranny.
I've seen the frame modifications and guess they are appropiate for the needed frame modifications even though this is a stock Enfield Diesel 325ccm from the beginning.
1. Where to get primary chain sprocket that fits the keyed axle?
2. How to mount the engine to the primary chain housing. Intermidiate plate needed, how to seal it properly?
3. Anything else?
Tor
What do I need to replace the Enfield's Greaves

Hi,
You will need to make up the engine mountings as per the Salad Oil Bike Website:
http://www.altmann.haan.de/riding_on_salad_oil/
You already have the longer gearbox shaft and inner primary but you will need to make up the 20mm spacer to fit between the engine and the inner primary. This is to align the sprockets for the primary drive.
The keyway sprocket should be available from any industrial transmission suppliers, but if your having trouble try Beckerdorf or Sommer in Germany or Henry Price in the UK (pricepartmotorcycles).
Regards
Dave
