He who laughs last was too slow to get the joke!
Im 99% certain. Got the time off work due to them owing me loads of hours.
Punsuns loosening up nicely and finally got the cvt tuned about as well as its going to be.
So should be a great trip. Still undecided about Ferry crossing though, options are to meet Stu and Jeff and ride the long way round, Hook of Holland for a shorter trip or Cuxhaven( Hamburg) and ride over to Ploand for a bit of touring.
Cheers, Mark

Hamm Rally - Harwich - Hook of Holland Route
I'll be doing the usual overnight ferry from harwich to the Hook of Holland route again this year.
If anyone wants to join in the fun of riding 204 miles on the most boring motorways in the world at 45 mph then let me know.

It is not in the arrival brightly planned. But in the Dreams Men Dream along the way we find the Golden road to Samarkand.

Nowhere near 60 Yet
Hi Bob,
It's only a 400 and I'm running the same gearing as the 360 so far = similar top speed.
I'm thinking of adding another tooth to the gearbox sprocket before the Hamm trip.
Still, onwards and upwards eh!

400cc
Have you experienced any extra vibration with the 400.
I have been tempted by the extra sprocket route but do not think it will be that good with the Four speed Box. You however have the five.

Hi Bob,
Smooth as a pair of silk undercrackers......
Nah, it's not as bad as you might think, certainly no worse than the 360, I suspect it's better balanced to start with.
Strangely it's easier to start? and the flywheels a lot lighter so it revs up quicker.
The throttle response is a bit more tricky, more on and off and requires a much lighter touch.
Have a go at the next rideout at the end of the month after brekkie.

I've not booked the ferry yet but will be pretty soon. I'll be catching the boat at 7-8am on the Wed before the rally if anyone wants to join me. We leave from Newhaven and dock at lunchtime in France and ride some excellent roads to camp at Mons tea time. Next morn it's a hard day on the motorway from there to Hamm. Should get there by mid afternoon.
Let me know. Guess we can put some ppl up here over night if need be. It's only a 1 hour hop to Newhaven first thing then.
These guys were cheap last year. Yet to check this year yet...

As for directions, I should know the way by now but just in case I'm gonna use the latest technology...
Still not sure what bike I will be taking. The Ruggerfield will be too slow with its present gearing. If I can get the new clutch on by then (and it setup works) then I'll use that. If not it'll be the trusty Hatz 350 I just hope the temp heady steady holds ok

My brother and I are booked on the http://www.transmancheferries.com/ ferry leaving at 9.30am Wed. It's a bit late due to maintenance we're told.
I had the side of the bike off tonight and the new belt setup and clutch still looks ok Also wacked the battery out so I could get my dipstick out and check the oil level. The things you have to do on the these bikes eh
Hope to see you all there
PS. Be sure to take a good map of Hamm because it's not an easy place to find. Take the turning before the thing that looks like a mini flyover in the village of hamm - if that helps

Ferries et - al
One year I'm going to take some time off work and go for an extended tour taking in France and Germany.
I think I'll book the time off as soon as I get back and start highlighting me map.
Anyhoo Fiddler and I shall be on the overnight ferry Thurs night so should arrive early afternoon.
Mine's a 'weiss beer' bitter!

Sluggy is obviously so fast with the new engine you've gone back to 2007!
Glad you got there and back with no problems - thanks for putting up the pics and see you soon.
