Big Knock 2020
So, because of the Covid 19 outbreak, we’ve put things on hold for the moment. The camping site at the pub is shut. I’ve added a link to it on the rally page link here:
http://www.dieselbike.net/Rally-Info/rally.htm
We are not sure how this will play out regarding T shirts either so it’s just possible there may not be any this year.
Stay safe everyone!

Re: Big Knock 2020
Shame to hear about that, however I consider the health of my diesel biking friends more important than a single rally.
Perhaps we can postpone the rally to a later date?
Hope you are all in good health.

Re: Big Knock 2020
Real shame about this Stuart but I guess sadly unavoidable. Very much hoping we've all got back to some kind of normality in time for Hamm this year as well. Hope everyone is staying safe and well.

Re: Big Knock 2020
Yes Dan,
Hamm could be even bigger & better if we’re all bottled up until then?
This could affect the Sommer Treff as well of course.
Strange times!

Re: Big Knock 2020
Well even though we are now allowed out for a ride I’m gonna miss the Big Knock.
So I’m buying a raft of widget Guinness, putting the tent up at the bottom of the garden and cooking myself a burger on the BBQ followed by talking bollox to myself whilst sitting around a campfire for the evening.
Friday and Saturday.
I think I’m starting to loose the plot.......

Re: Big Knock 2020
The Oakfields camping site at the Bat and Ball is opening soon.
“We re-open on 13th July 2020!
Please visit our website for all the information on how we intend to keep you safe and how to book”
www.haywards-batandball.co.uk/camping
I did wonder whether we could have a Big Knock the week prior to Hamm, solely for the purpose of riding there together & taking those along that have never been?

Re: Big Knock 2020
Sh*t, better put the bike back together in one piece....
Re: Big Knock 2020
FFS Dave! Do you ever have all of them in one piece at the same time?Diesel Dave wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 10:36 pm Sh*t, better put the bike back together in one piece....
On a serious note... is Hamm still on? I did drop Raf a message on Twitter to check if it was still on but no reply yet. Anyone else managed to confirm?

Re: Big Knock 2020
It’s a shame it wasn’t closer as we’d definitely do both then.
I’ve not heard anything about Hamm but am guessing the second outbreak nr Köln might be the reason.
Still hopeful it’ll go ahead.

Re: Big Knock 2020
Ok. We are going to look for a campsite less busy than our usual venue with a view to having a rally sometime in August if possible.
Stay tuned...

Re: Big Knock 2020
Ok, we have been given the weekend of 15th August at Riverside Farm. It will be £15 a tent per night due to it being height of season but it’s a lot less busy than our normal venue so we can easily distance.
http://www.riversidefarm-camping.uk/
It has toilets & easy access from the A281 where it crosses the disused railway line.
Riverside Farm
Guildford Rd (A281)
Rudgwick
Horsham
West Sussex
RH12 3HZ
We’ll be onsite from Thursday in the second field on the right of the track.
See you there!

Re: Big Knock 2020
Woo! It's also the week before Gaschney.
For people from outside the UK it seems you need to fill in a form before you go.

Re: Big Knock 2020
I know it’s been an odd year for everybody, but why oh why does it always happen just before heading off to a rally?
1) the battery has died on Sluggy
2) the camper electrics went and let the smoke out
3) the bike trailer has a flat
4) the solar panel for the van may not arrive in time
5) the fuel filter on the Kubota is blocked and I don’t have a replacement
6) it’s so hot....
7) my left shoulder is now bad enough to make moving bikes around a real trial
Well, I’ll throw a spare on the trailer, get the missus to help loading the bike on the trailer and reverse flow clean the filter.
I can live without electricity.
So come Thursday, I’m loading up and heading south....regardless.
See y’all there
