SO, I have been mooching around here for good while, not realy posted much , as think I need help , more than I can give help.
Been wanting to build a diesel bike for along time.
We have even made it the diesel bike rally , the one year(?) it wasnt at the bat and ball. very inspiring.
Anyway I have now reached a good point were I think I have the main ingredients to be able to make a start.
Funnily enough, its a Z482 out of an Aixam , I have the remains of a usable superdream, thou its not going to stay looking like superdream , but thats not really much to worry about at the mo.
So plan is to try to use the Superdream(CB250N) gearbox and also plan to turbo it , maybe 4-8lbs of boost, but first things first, could do with advice and a bit of guidance in relation to connecting drivefrom engine to box, I have found clipits of builds done by a chap called Tim, But cant find any build threads for his later bikes witch are relivent to what I would like to do . fingers crossed, Tim might chirp up and point me in the rite direction,
All pointers welcome, Womble

Hi womble,
There is loads of build info on the forum it realy helped me and there is always somebody with a good sugestion or a bit of help.
I think Tim used a toothed belt set up to drive the gearbox. I had look at his bike at the big Knock. Try to gather up as many parts as you can as the mock up will take most of the time. Perhaps you could use some car engine parts or maybe you could get a pulley to fit from an electric motor I think some bearing company’s do them. Are you going to try to keep the same reg.

Been reading the posts for the last few years, always come back and check for more,
Yes, I can't see there being a problem with keeping the reg, as I reckon I can get it all to fit in the stock chassis, so should be no problems there, just need to send off log book for change of fuel ?
Fingers crossed Tim might post some stuff on his drive

Keep any receipts especially the engine. You may be asked to verify the change of engine. I took mine to the local MOT garage where they had a look at the frame and engine numbers and gave me a statement of that on headed paper which I then sent off. You can't just declare an engine change these days.

There’s no problem keeping the original reg number - it belongs to the frame.
Z482’s have an engine number next to the injection pump on the main block, it will tell you the year and month it was made..
