Can Bikers Raise A Million Signatures On No 10 Petitions?!

Post by BobMan »

Petition to postpone the date for bringing in the new motorcycle test (due Sept 29 2008) till all 66 sites are operational in the UK:

Petition to remove the maximum motorbike engine size limit for learners and light motorcycles with Diesel engines as a 500cc will produce less than 10hp whereas a petrol engine of the allowed 125cc can produce 14.6hp!

Please all vote and pass them round as many friends and forums as possible.

Let's see if we can hit a million signatures on both!

Bob,

I think your right to challenge both the issues you suggest and i wish you well in your quests, so Im happy to sign the petitions.

Are you going it alone on this though? From experience I know how frustrating this kind of lobbying can be.

Aplogies if Im teaching you stuff you know but have you contacted either Mag or the BMF regards the diesel issue. Also the All Party Motorcycle Group. Love or loath riders rights groups you stand a fair greater chance of challenging this with there backing.

Good Luck, Mark

Thanks Mark.

Nope, I just decided to dive in and get the ball rolling as the 125cc restriction seemed so unreasonable on diesel bikes and anyone who wanted to start riding one without a license, especially with the new changes in the test coming up.

I was hoping it would grow "virally" from there.

I've stuck links on a couple of forums on Motorcycle News and also had them "published" as an online MCN "article", and posted them on a couple of motoring forums.

I was hoping that people would pass the details on and it spread like that.

Following your advice I've emailed the details to MAG and to Michael Fabricant MP of the All Party Motorcycle Group
