Central USA? Diesel Bike meet

Post by coachgeo »

Thinking ahead; myself and pietenpol2002 have been batting around maybe holding a Diesel Bike fest somewhere at his or my place or in between. He is Indiana I'm South East OH. Couple options we discussed
. Our own diesel bike thing with one to five? that can come?
. A diesel bike thing snuck into another existing bike event (as in all that come come register to attend all the same existing fest) This helps spread the diesel charm little more so that keeping it just us.
. combination of the two (find our own diesel camp spot but participate in an existing bike fest other wise.

several advantage/disadvantage to each. My work schedule is weird and includes part of weekends (sundays for sure) and don't get paid if am not at work so I'd expect it best to plan around everyone else's life; not mine, is wisest.

Who would be interested in something over this side of the US?

I'm in Denver. Still working on my bike but hope to have it roadworthy by the end of March.

I'll try to tie down better my employers long weekend closure schedule for the summer. Maybe that one weekend will work for enough folk.

Im so sorry folk for not speaking up sooner. I've got a mortgage issue to clear up.Looks like this will now be end of this month. Was suppose to have happened months ago but it dragged out. (Converting from Land Contract to Bank Mortgage) Once I get final things settled then I can plan this.

That and I'm soooo hoping my bike will be here from TX. Latest is Curtis may be going to Chicago for family things. If so he will bring it up closer for me to get it from him when that happens. Since I basically get paid by the hour I can't afford the time off to go get it. Money unearned "plus" money spent to rent truck and trailer makes it a huge expense I just can't afford. Damn it was so much easier when I lived only 40 min. from him.

I'm planning on taking my Kawabota out West for a trip in the Spring or early Summer. Hope to make it from DE to CA. If trip could be timed with a diesel bike get together, that would be great.
Marc Cook, editor of Motorcyclist magazine, wanted to take it for a ride. It is also going to have a featured write up in next month's ADVMoto print magazine.
I'll be posting a YouTube video of a quarter mile drag race between the Kawabota, a Track turbodiesel and my nephew on a tricycle.

This will now be a 2016 event. Keep me posted on your schedule. I'd also like to piggy back this with a petrol bike meet nearby so we can join their events and smoke them out :D

I would love to attend a Diesel bike event.. I am in TN.

Having hosted various events I can tell you it is alot of work! The host will not enjoy the activities due to the work load.
Might I suggest piggy backing the DIESEL GATHERing with some other LARGER motorcycle rally or gathering.

We could be a subset of a larger group.. Separate but a part of the group.
Frankly this would make it easier for us to infect other riders with the diesel disease..

OH there is our Group Name. TDD.. "The Diesel Disease"

Of all of the rallies I have attended the best group was a sidecar national rally..
Those guys are amazing at cobbling things together!!

No doubts that you are a diesel bike owner. The attachment is so beautiful, and the event is going to be crazy.
