Re: Hamm 2017 Rally
Yes, dates confirmed as being the weekend 7th to 9th Sept - and it’s fast approaching! I’ve yet to buy a ferry ticket so need to sort that & get a few things worked out before the off.
Hopefully, will see you all there!

Stuart - hope you don’t mind but I moved your post to the Hamm 2018 thread! Got my ferry booked - I’ll be doing the overnight Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry arriving morning of Friday 7th then a ride through the dykes to Germany. I’ve missed the last couple so can’t wait and really looking forward to catching up with everyone.
Believe Diesel Dave also quite far along the committing to it route as well

Right - ferry finally booked (ever tried to use Tesco Vouchers.........they don't make it easy but £10 in vouchers gets you £30 of value on a ticket).

Re: Hamm 2018 Rally
Why is it always just before the Hamm rally.........
It happens to me every year just before the annual event, something will go wrong with the bike.
So last week old Sluggy got pinched from outside the house, local kids pushed him into the woods and tried to start the motor. Obviously they failed miserably so I recovered the bike quickly but they broke the screen and cut the wiring loom and also pinched all the tools from the pannier.
So that was all fixed over the weekend and this morning I find a puddle of oil under the left fork leg; dagnabbit!
Easy enough fix, just anneal the copper sealing washer as I was too lazy to do this when I fitted the fork legs for the disk brake. Lesson learned (again).

Re: Hamm 2018 Rally
Round our way the delightful kids often burn stolen bikes. I would like to have been there if this lot tried taking the cap off and throwing a match (or 6) in Glad you got it back.
Re: Hamm 2018 Rally
Sorry to hear some lowlife nicked Sluggy ,pleased you got your bike back quickly and without too much damage

Re: Hamm 2018 Rally
Sorry to hear of your troubles Dave.
I’m on the Newhaven ferry as I type (Wednesday morning) and will be looking to make Perrone as a first stop tonight.
With roadworks still on the main Autobahn (route 1 above Köln I will be heading for Venlo Thursday before circling over to Hamm on the 58 A Road. If all goes to plan

Re: Hamm 2018 Rally
Brilliant to be back at another diesel bike rally in Germany - thanks again for organising Rafael and also to Alex for leading Dave and I on some superb rides in Holland. Hope everyone got/gets back safely. Dan
