And in case you'r wondering WTF.

Was a 99 iron barrel Bullet with a fairly hot engine.
Head, cams, carb, exhaust, Etc.
Would do the Ton.
Long story short I am nearly deaf so when the spur gear on the oil pump
shaft went out it wasn't heard till the engine was full of microscopic metal
shavings. No back flush was possible and complete rebuild was not my choice.
Thus the conversion to a 10HP Chinese diesel. 750 trouble free miles so far.
Will only do about 55mph but gets 120mpg and is more fun than any motorcycle
I've owned in 60+ yrs of riding.

Hi Bill,

Great to see your completed bike. Looks GREAT!!! I did in fact get your call when you were in town the other week and tried both numbers I had for you in the hope that I could catch you while you were here to see both you and the bike, but no response from either number. I'd love to see it up close and personal. If you get back this direction, let's arrange to meet (you've got my number). Or, I'd be happy to come your direction as well. Perhaps on one of the Enfields. And I though of you just last weekend as I was trying to get a patient admitted to the Coldwater hospital (sadly, no open beds).

I should add, one should never wish for misfortune, but there is that part of me that secretly wishes one of the Enfield's engines would go south as yours did, so as to give me the excuse to drop one of Yanmar clones in its place. As an aside, how's the free air concept working out for cooling?

Hey Ron;
great to hear from you. Free air works great. Doesn't seem to get hot at all.
Yes will have to get together!
Busy this weekend but will call when opening arises.
