Taking an 10hp diesel-bike to the strip, brilliant!

For comparison, a 3500lb 68hp Mercedes 240D does 1/4 mile in around 24 @ 56mph

Long distance is much improved!
On the same trip I took last year from Denver to Larkspur for the Colorado Renaissance Festival, max speed was 64.2mph with 29mph average over 103 miles and 96.24mpg. This year it was 61.4mph max and 41.8mph average with 89.63mpg.

Re: Honda Rebel Kubota
Today I made it up the highest paved road in North America (Mt. Evans) with no trouble at all. It was able to maintain 30mph all the way up to the 14,000ft peak with power for a bit more if not for the dangerous road.
Last year I tried this trip with the 14 tooth sprocket and it wouldn't pass 9,000ft elevation because the engine was lugging above 25mph.

Got the exhaust replaced. Much happier with this. Its mounted lower so it won't burn my leg at stops, has a flex pipe in the middle to absorb vibration and has a nice chrome end instead of plain pipe.
I also deleted the front fender as it was looking pretty ratty after the attempt at mounting the plastic air horns to it.

Getting ready to ride again.
Got the high output stator so the battery can be recharged quickly and I can use the electric starter.
Recoil was nice and interesting, but it broke last November and the replacement would cost twice as much as the stator.

Re: Honda Rebel Kubota
Went to fit the stator today and found a broken frame tube.
At this point, I am ready to move on to something more powerful. If I don't get a buyer by June, I might fix it.

Re: Honda Rebel Kubota
I decided to fix it and put a crossmember for more reinforcement.
The Royal Enfield voltage regulator I am using couldn't keep up with the massive 20amp alternator, it would get past 17v and the lithium battery would cut off in self protection.
Sine the engine needs a 400CA battery and I don't have the space for something that massive, I just went back to the 5 amp alternator and recoil start that has worked well so far.

Well, that is exactly what happened. They got greedy and now demand $400/year just for the ability to view images off their site. So I told them to screw off and deleted my account.pietenpol2002 wrote:If not mistaken, using a hosting site like Photobucket risks losing the pics from this board if they are removed from the hosting site.
If anybody wants pictures, let me know and I will reupload them.
