Greetings from a new guy

Post by jdaftra »

Hello all, I am a new member, JD Miller from Missouri. I love the site and this is a great forum. Building a diesel bike is something I have been wanting to do for a very long time and I am so pleased so many others have thought along the same lines. I have been looking for a motor for awhile and bought one that ended up being way to big first. Last week I bought a 1 liter Mitsubishi triple sight unseen from a government auction. It is a K3D out of a Toro Groundsmater lawn mower. It might be a little large but I will know a lot more next week when I pick it up. It will either be going in a bike I'll buy a gen head and make a generator for my cabin. I know its 270lbs but hopefully I can shed a few pounds of lawn mower stuff, hydraulics and such. Once I have the measurements I will start hunting a donor bike. I have a few old bikes laying around but probably nothing of the adequate size. My dream would be a Mitsu - Guzzi but that looks pretty tough, more likely I'll try to squeeze it into an old harley roller or something. I'll keep updating and thanks for the forum!
