Diesel Fuel Storage Cans

Post by cheesy »

Not too sure where to post this, so figured this was the best place. Sort of off topic, sort of on.
I have a question regarding diesel fuel cans in the US. Why is it so hard to find AFFORDABLE 2.5 gallon or smaller cans here? I found one yellow 2.5 gallon plastic can for $50. Nothing smaller. Most, however, are in the 5 gallon range and fairly priced, but I don't need a can that big. My 5 gallon kero can was last filled in 2008 and there's still some in there. So endeth the rant.

What do you guys use?

I did, on a whim, check out Sportsman's Guide and they have a 10L metal jerry can in OD, for about $25. So I sprung for it. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/ ... ?a=1584047
I built spray painting equipment in the first 23 years of my working life, and had to learn how to use it, so color change isn't a big deal. D I E S E L stenciled in yellow may be enough.

There's a thought, thanks. I get Shell Rotella T 15-40W for my CX in 5L jugs.
But, too soon old, too late smart. The jerry can arrived yesterday. I'll bring it into work so I can stencil it, then fill it on the way home.
