d722 performance question

Post by GPzTurbo »

HI -
I'm riding the bmw k100 with the D722. It's running great so far. My friend , the builder, made fork extensions to give more ground clearance and we welded in gussets to reinforce the frame (the old k100 engine was an integral part of the frame support). Overall , it goes much better now. I just put about 50 miles on it after replacing the mech fuel pump and it barely used any fuel at all.

From my original introduction post in Classifieds:
coachgeo wrote: Seems to me the D722 turned up a little should provide similar performance yet keep the bike lighter (than using a D902). .
What is meant by turned up a little and how do I do this? Is there an adjustment on the injector pump?

Also - I found out the Gov't model D722 came with a factory turbo but I can't find perfomance specs on it. I can buy the turbo manifold for $139 and, coincidentally, its triangular flange looks identical to the little Hitachi ht-10b that came on my Kawasaki turbo bikes so I have spares of those. (the guy at the kubota parts distributor said the gov't model turbocharger lists for $3k - yikes!)

I have to finish three other gpz's before I can even think about adding a turbo to the d722 but in the meantime, if there's a way to turn it up a little I'm all ears.

thanks!

Coolbeans, thanks.

Don't think there's many of those in the Netherlands tough.
