Larry your a star; I've been looking all over for that info.
Now all I need to do is negotiate a week and a half off work and get a pass from SWIMBO.

Re: French Enfield, Diesel and vintage bike rally
Cheers Larry,
I was asking about this event at The Big Knock but could not pin it down. I think the confusion was because of the Course Cote De Gascheney is on the 11-12th as well.
This fits in nicely for me, so I am planning on taking the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry and then plod down that way before heading on afterwards.

Re: French Enfield, Diesel and vintage bike rally
Right looks like this might just be possible.
Rough Itinery:
Weds 8 july - Ride down to Portsmouth for the overnight ferry to Caen departs 22:00 arrives 06:45
Thurs 9 July - Leisurely back roads 200 miles to campsite somewhere around Salbris - possible chalet overnight rather than tent
Friday 10 July - Next 200 mile leg to the event.
Sat through Tues - event itself
Weds & Thurs - reverse route back to UK
Friday - depart ferry ride home - sleep all weekend.

Re: French Enfield, Diesel and vintage bike rally
Hi Dave,
I'm on an alternative itinerary:
Wednesday 8th July, 17:30 Newhaven-Dieppe ferry (£35 one way) arriving 22:30.
Room at the Egg Hotel Dieppe (former Etap town centre £31+£5 breakfast)
Good nights sleep......
This leaves me 217 miles about 5.5 hours from Salbris.
Happy to arrange a meet there abouts for camping or a chalet? And then the ride down to the rally.
I am planning to ride on after the rally so will not be heading straight back.
Should be fun. Now I just have to work out how to submit the French rally application form..... I don't want to miss out on the Gala dinner!

Re: French Enfield, Diesel and vintage bike rally
Well this looks interesting, so we did manage to figure out where the french rally takes place.
I might go, I might not.
Its only a 1000 KM away...
Location (I think):
https://www.google.nl/maps/place/Campin ... 756e51e106

I'm free during that period and nothing planned. There is a big probability that i will make it on the diesel.

Re: French Enfield, Diesel and vintage bike rally
I've made a short movie of the first ride out for me in this french meet.

Ian is in there!
Lovely meet, many people whom i couldn't converse with a lot but we generally agreed on motorcycles good and diesel better, just not on the alcohol.
