I built the bike 2 years ago and covered approximately 3000 miles and during this period ironed out any issue . Once happy with the general running it was dismantled , overhauled and is now offered for sale .
The engine water cooled an good starter (preheat when cold) I have started it at -2 with little extra bother, the battery is sufficient to give excellent reserve and no decompressor is necessary. The 500w alternator is more than able usual to keep up with any electrical demand and decent headlights. The engine is in excellent condition and minimum / no oil consumption.
The kubota engine is renowned for its reliability and longevity. It is very smooth running and at 50 mph barely audible above the noise of the wind. The power can be boosted by increasing the maximum fuel delivery rate but I have left at the manufactures setting as the bike is about mpg not mph. Even under full load the exhaust runs clean.
The CVT transmission has been tuned for delivering maximum fuel efficiency, it will return anything upto 160 mpg depending on driving skills!
The rear drive is via 30mm wide HDT toothed belt giving clean quite hassle free system that didn't need adjusting in 3000 miles
Fantastic to ride in traffic and brilliant tourer on the open road happily chuffs around at 50 mph and is top speed would be 55 to 60 mph.
The bike weight in approximately 10kg more than the standard Superdream but it's handling is seems little effected by the conversion.
To sum it up a well put together bike , proven reliability, requiring the minimum of maintenance . Excellent fuel efficiency and an industry standard engine which should give years of service . If your a speed merchant this possibly isn't for you but if tourer and happy at 50 and 150 to the gallon this may be of interest.
Insurance is approx £120 per year including recovery
Will have 12 months MOT and 12 months tax.
However the silencer shows its age and the chrome is blemished in a couple of places.
