I've just got back from collecting the T shirts
Design ideas, front & back were by my brother, Jeff, this year and we are very pleased with the results.
Thanks again to David stateside for helping vectorise the images
I'll get a few pictures up soon.

Ok chaps, here are the 10th anniversary T shirts.
Front image Diesel + over number 10.
Rear image represents evolution (of a sort) from 2005 rally thru 2014. Also small bike to largest and finally, very good fuel consumption (inner bike - Flitzbitz) to perhaps a slightly less efficient bike in the Sprocket.
Both bikes exhibit excellent engineering
We've had to increase the price to £10 from the usual £8 unfortunately, the first time this has happened. Due to printing both sides, prices of shirts & labour etc it can't be avoided.

How about a steam powered bike? Henk van der Waal, (Netherlands, of course) has painstakingly rebuilt at least one of the A W Field steam bikes, which were built privately in my home town of Clacton on Sea before the war.
He has a website, so it should not be too difficult to contact him. I must stress that I have not met him myself, so do not quote me.

Great work as always Stuart. I look forward to investing in a couple of weeks time! Should be a great rally this year and I think it's great we're returning to The Bat and Ball.

Re: The Big Knock 2014
Cheers guys. I visited the FS1E rally at the pub this weekend & it was rocking. But the football cup final may have helped there

We've been riding about every motorcycle shop & diesel parts selling place we can think of putting out flyers over the last week.
T shirts are bagged up & ready now too.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and talking more as I am not collecting camping money this year (pay at the pub). Still got a bit more side stand wood to collect. I've spent the evening bagging T shirts up.

I'm thinking of making the ride down on Friday afternoon after work, sadly I'll have to return home on Sunday evening.
Looking forward to it though!

Re: The Big Knock 2014
I've just had Bike Magazine on the blower. They will be at the pub on Friday afternoon to talk with owners & take some shots. They would like to do 8 owner/rider profiles so if anyone wants to feature in their article please arrive in good time on Friday.
Some of our friends are in the field already with my brother going over today to set up the base camp etc.

Dave, the pub were supposed to email me this info along with a menu & prices, so I could post it here & to FB. They have not done so, so I will give them a prod now. The farm shop should be open for milk & eggs etc.

'maybe petrol bikes could be parked further back out of the way?'
I'll do my best Stuart and apologies to all in advance
So far weather looking good for Friday and fabulous for Saturday.

Just had a call from clothes seller Paul who's been a regular for a few years now. He's hoping to be on site for Friday but may only be able to make Saturday.

Re: The Big Knock 2014
An aerial view of the Rally camping field at the Bat & Ball. Not quite as big as the first field so perhaps we could try and set our tents out in this fashion to best use the space? See the White Block Lines round the edge and in the centre of the field. This might make it easier to view the bikes?

So when we arrive which field are we filling first? Last time I came along we started on the left side field.Stuart wrote:An aerial view of the Rally camping field at the Bat & Ball. Re: The Big Knock 2014
Rally field is now the second or middle field.
Just ride past the front of the pub to the field entrance which is straight ahead. The pub car park will be to your left & the toilet block to your right as you go straight to the field.

Re: The Big Knock 2014
From my brother who's in the field right now:
"Please DO NOT use the first (usual) entrance to the (1st) camping field,it's too muddy and churned up & not the rally field. Use the gate which is straight on past the pub building at the end of the car park. We have been busy putting mulch down here to hopefully make it safer for the bikes - it's still soft but much better!".

Re: The Big Knock 2014
I see Tuin, Matt, Whiskers and possibly Sam?
I've prepped old Sluggy for the ride down tomorrow afternoon, hopefully I should be there by 5pm.

Re: The Big Knock 2014
I just received my shirt today. I must say it looks much better in person than it does on my computer. The shirts are top-notch. Grab them quick if you still can! Thanks Stuart for sending me one, I'll be wearing it (out) this summer, no doubt. Wish I could join everyone there, perhaps another year. EDIT: I see you used the logo on the poster as well! Good show, although I could have made you an inverted one to save on printing.

Re: The Big Knock 2014
Big thank you to Stuart who donated a gearbox dog gear, to get my bike back on the road again. Thanks also for leaving the Rally to go and get it.
Thanks to all who helped with the loan of tools etc, Jeff for giving me a lift to get oil, and all who showed an interest.
The bike's working well, thoroughly tested

Re: The Big Knock 2014
Glad you made it home ok Ian. Some last minute stuff to sort when Hans ran out of petrol (get a dieselbike mate) & then lost his keys). Cheers to Chris for running him about to find petrol & keys.
