curious why no one does this....

Post by endlos »

if i was going to run a large displacement inline 3-4 car motor i would want to run it transversley, and the idea of just running a busa tranny behind it strikes me as something that would work just fine with a bit of tinkering.....

stock busa trannies would take the power a 1.9 puts out fine, clutch might get eaten up regularly if you are tough on it, but even then, the turbo busa aftermarket is huge, you can buy every part thats stronger and better built, etc etc. just a thought.

Are busa's not a single unit type layout? Engine and box as one unit running in the same oil? I suppose if that was the case then it would be possible to make up casings for the components or perhaps even adapt the standard casings with a bit of alloy welding tho it seems a bit complex to me. Thats the reason I've plumped for a harly box, tho maybe I should have done more research??
