I emailed Fred to inquire whether there would be parts support for his creations. Below is his response.

"The bike in question is not from the US Marine Corps inventory, but from an R&D run of three units we sent to the UK military. Hayes Diesel is currently limited to R&D and is not in a position to provide either technical or parts support to the civilian market. This is not to say that we could take the necessary steps to provide civilian support for the M1030M1 in the future."

boy is that a bunch of eloquent dancing. While true Im sure..... just eloquent dancing.

Answer's why one of them was able to be obtained from UK military auction. That was really confusing. Rest is dancing cause HDT no longer owns the company. Would assume (yeah I know..... I shouldn't) that would mean all the tooling sold too. It was sold to a company in India as reported in here previously.

Altius Automotive in Chennai were supposed to be producing the bike branded as the Altius Scimitar and their web site does show a military version. But when emailed they have not replied, the web site has not changed since it first went live and there have no press releases. That is a pity as they were going to offer the machine at a very reasonable price. Perhaps one of the forum members in India can shed some light on the matter.
Building the bike. Top of my list, bottom of the wife's.
