Larger china single diesel?

Post by arnaud »

Hi, I had a 418ccm 10 HP wiltec yanmar clone for some years.
Winsun came with a some larger single diesel but the crankshaft were prone to breaking.
Does anyone know if there's an development by other manufacturers in this matter?

Right now i ride mostly my jawa 638, but would like to go diesel again.

Henry Price is using the 456cc clone which is routinely advertised as being "13 hp". Not sure which of the Chinese manufactureres he sources it from. But, Winsun is producing them again.

So, Winsun paused the production of these machines?
i remember the cranks were prone to break, i sold mine before it happened and the new owner placed a 418 crank in it

Rotek of Austria are still around, and produce Yanmar clones. They do an 870cc V twin 19hp version
at this link : http://www.ebay.at/itm/Dieselmotor-19PS ... 19e13916ca
and still have the single cylinder 418cc 11hp model for sale at this link: http://www.ebay.at/itm/Dieselmotor-11PS ... 19e21f74bc
Since they are European made, should have better quality control than some Chinese versions!
Worth possibly checking out?

Anything single-barreled above 12HP is gonna be like what is in the table at the bottom of this page.
So technically, yes. Practically, no big single that's worthwhile.

If you are adamant about having a high-power diesel single, you would have to

easier) lower static compression of and supercharge or

harder) turbocharge or

even harder) two-stroke and, possibly, either of the above

the single of your choice.
