Honda Diesel Engine... cheap!

Post by Rick »

I';m on a number of other MSN boards. I'm an assistant on one. The manager is in Canada, We were talking about diesel bikes the other day and he offered me one of these. Ii didn't even know Honda made diesels.
They are BRAND NEW. GD 320. However they are 1991 models. The shop's owner bought them back in 91, and was never able to sell them. He quoted me $600 Canadian for one. Wish I'd have seen that before I bought my clone. I MAY pick one up anyway.
Thought one of the members in here might be interested. Shipping could be a bit steep as he's in New Brunswick.

Im sure if any one wants one and has the $600 CDN my boss will let one go..... not sure how many we have ... they are still in the original Box etc...... if any one is interested shoot me an E Mail... all we have left are the GD 320s... rated at 7hp.....3600 RPM... 11.6 Ft/Lbs TQ at 2500 RPM

I know, pretty late for a reply, but I just joined and this is my third post.

Honda Diesel ...... hmmm, looks like a YANMAR with different fuel tank placement and slightly larger bore I guess as it features more cc, kind of doubt Honda makes it though.

These Honda diesels seem to be readily available in Canada but never seen here in the States. Sadly, most are the lower (I believe 7 HP) versions. Also available in Western Canada through the chaps below.

What I'd really like would be the OHC 3 cylinder Honda diesel as below. The specs are on page 27 of this PDF owners manual. Can they actually be found over there on the EU side?

In the size and rather portly weight range of the three cylinder liquid cooled Honda there are many choices, Kubota, Yanmar, Briggs Daihatsu to name just a few.

For example:

Kubota D902-E3B only weighs 72 kg and is 24.8 hp at 3600 RPM. That seems a very substantial weight savings over the Honda and the Kubota is readily available from any Kubota dealer.

I wonder why the Honda is so porky.

Y'know Mick came to the first British Rally (along with Ernie D) and told me that he once owned a Honda Diesel motorcycle. He said two India fellas kept asking him to sell it and eventually he did. He regretted it.
Can't for the life of me remember what engine it was but it may well have been the first one under discusion here. So there is atleast one Honda bike out there, somewhere...
Stuart. M1030M1, Honda NC700S, Grom!, Toyota Corolla 1.4 Turbo Diesel. Favouring MPG over MPH.
