It is a shame, although they seem to be keeping "some" of the manuals staff.

I have a feeling it is a combination in part to modern vehicles being more difficult for the average owner to fix. the average owners abilities have declines significantly. ( I realised this when I discovered my son in law had to call the AA to change a wheel on his BMW car) but also modern cars do run more reliably (for more miles) than the cars of the 1950's and 60's.

When is the last time you had a car rebored? or crank reground?

Yes, looks like that website may have jumped the gun a little in saying they were stopping. I find them useful is used in conjunction with electronic diagnosis equipment.
