Sliping belts
For the last few rides on the big Honda the belts have been sliping at about 2000rpm when needing a lot of torque. Removeing the cover showed the belts to be quite tight. Anyway I remembered flat belts on tractors when sliping were cured with Stockholm Tar, So today I tried some and it works. Stockholm tar for those who dont know is what farmers put on an animals wound to keep the flies off. There is one downside it smells terrible, very intense barbeque smell.

Re: Sliping belts
Good tidbit. Thanks. Though Im sure you know it...... just in case not- Autoparts places now sell a belt dressing in a spray can. It too works fairly well.
