3 cylinder daihatsu

Post by SUMO »

anyone tell me what else these things were in?

i am after a 3 cyl charade motor for my project - proving to be more than a little illusive...

can anybody tell me what else [if anything] they were fitted in to help widen my search some?

i am told they were in a hijet for a few years also but thats not working for me either

any other vehicles they were in that anyone knows of? or a simliar engine for that matter?

thanks all - this is just the start of the questions - you just wait till its all layed out in the garage :D

thanks all

just wondering if you've seen the Aixam diesel cars? their 500cc diesel twin might lend itself to motorcycle use, they are common on ebay.

from a very quick google search looks like a 2 cylinder kubota engine about 13HP

im going to do some sums with gear ratios but that doesnt sound an awfull lot

You're right, 13hp doesn't sound like a lot, but I thought it might be a more compact size and if it takes a car up to 50 mph, then maybe 70 on a bike is possible?

I had to get three glow plugs for the Daihatsu Charade engine a few years back and was told they were cheaper here than on the continent.

I used to have a hijet diesel(what a disaster) injector units cost £1000 the set and nobody wanted to work on it although this was a completely different engine to the charade:?
