I have noticed, that with some of my trouser legs, are touching & getting burned, as my right foot goes foward, to touch the ground when at traffic lights & stopping, on the diesel exhaust, on my enfield.
I have seen a few photo,s of the german sommer bikes, with the exhaust wrap, on the straight part, of the exhaust, running close to the right foot peg.
Is there any known problems with using this on a section of the pipe, the front header ( bend ) will not be wrapped, just the pipe, from the front of the engine.
any one any thoughts or advice on this material.

Re: ENFIELD EXHAUST WRAP
I intend to this this before my mot, as its not exactly air tight
The only issue with the wraps on bikes is that they cause the pipes to rust very quickly as they hold all the water in.

Re: ENFIELD EXHAUST WRAP
The front pipe, is Stainless, so the rusting won,t be a problem, have done a little reading tonight, on the subject, some of the details on petrol engines, stated that they, run a little weaker on the mixture, with a quicker escape of the exhaust gases, through the pipe,? with using the wrap, made me wonder how this would effect a diesel engine, it would most likely solve my problem.
If it didn,t cause any problem ??

Another option is the universal exhaust heat shield. I paid $10 for mine here in the states. They're chrome, but contrary to how it looks in the pic, it actually matches the stainless pipe rather well.

Re: ENFIELD EXHAUST WRAP
Exhaust wrap will not affect the engine in any way. The only negative to the fiberglass type is they produce a smell and some smoke as it burns in. After about an hour of running, the wrap stops smoking but it continues to have a distinctive smell for several hundred miles.
