Dual purpose Alternator/Reverser

Post by coachgeo »

okkkkkk.... would this be even possible?

Assuming one could actually mount this in a way that would actually work...

could an alternator; or electric motor, be electrically modified so that it could act like an alternator 99.9% of the time when spun normally...... but also wired to a switch and operater flicks it on to spin it in reverse to work as a motor; via battery, to wheel a heavy bike in reverse!!

The Suzuki GT185 had an alternator which doubled as a starter motor.... so, in theory, yes!
