Is that the Toyota forklift alternator? Some folks I know use em on race cars for alternators.

Wow that is a small alternator!! Good find Stuart, just perfect for a bike with limited space, looks like a Hitachi type "clone?" but could be wrong :).

Looks similar to a Daihatsu Hijet alternator.....

they are small and offer 35amp (I think.....its in the shed somewhere :p)

For reference I use a Bandit alternator which is comparably small. Also fitted to many of the larger Suzuki GSX bikes. like your find it's rated at 35 Amps.
The only mod I had to do was braze a pulley wheel on the cush drive / sprocket carrier.
Commonly available second hand for between £15 and £25.
