Lombardini 11LD 522 Spec Sheet
Has anyone used a Lombardini 11LD series engine? The 522 seems like a nice lump for a motorcycle conversion. Air-cooled, so no extra plumbing.. 3 cyls, 1.6l and well over 30Hp. I don't think I have seen anyone using one of these. What are your guys' thoughts on this engine? Would it be any good, or would a water cooled unit be preferable?

I've never seen a air-cooled multicylinder unit from Lombardini in a motorcycle.
The 11LD522 has a given dry weight of 147kg. Your spec-sheet is even talking about 153kg. This could be the reason.

If you dont stretch your frame more than 6 cm aircooling would be fine
But otherwise a noise measuring session at Lelystad will be a part of the registration.
My watercooled bike just passed this test , I dont think an aircooled engine ever will pass.....

Ohhh, missed the weight somehow.. it's awefully heavy. Somehow I was under the impression the weight was similar to the KDW1003 engine, but it's nearly twice as heavy.. well, that settles that question then, I suppose..
