Ukranian Bikes

Post by pietenpol2002 »

Several links to projects in the Ukraine. The first is unique in that a stock Minsk C-125 is used including the clutch and transmission, with the engine mounted above them. Stock length and appearance is maintained although the fuel tank is simply a "cover" for the engine while the actual tank is mounted aft. Even so, he claims sufficient fuel to achieve a range of 1000 miles. BTW, he reportedly now has a guard covering the primary drive to protect the left leg.

We had a discussion of his first endeavor some years ago. It was a lengthened Jawa 350 that incorporated a Czech industrial diesel engine and and an MT-11 trans/final drive.

And then this lad is simply enjoying the fruits of his labors somewhere in the Ukraine - details unknown.

Some good finds there Ron :D I'd seen the middle link bike before but not the other two. Diesel bikes coming in from the (Ukraininan) cold, as it were, or in off the farm :)
Thought that kid in the barn's bike pretty minimalist but laid out well with the shaft drive and all.
Good to see others pushing the envelope though eh?

The gearbox back to the rear wheel on the last one is KMZ Dnepr, as is most of the frame (though it's been hacked about) - but the front end is off something else. Maybe Jawa...
