Nice engine, probably Chinees.
Enough power for a dieselbike.
There are 2 versions. Aircooles and watercooled engines.
The aircooled engines are noisy and not so good compare the watercooled engine's.
But I am not an expert, It's what I picket up .

Yes, could be false economy if you have to put in any work on it.

The 25hp version is the one said to be breaking cranks. That said, it's a lot of rumour... but I haven't actually seen one with a broken crank (yet).

I see they have blurred out the manufacturer name. So Winsun, Punsun, KingPoo or who knows. They all seem to look the same my PunSun has kingPoo cast into the engine case. It was sold to me as a 20hp by Punsun but is really rated at 15hp on the KingPoo site. This does not meen its a bad engine but you may find it does not produce 25hp it might be 20hp in reality. I have read here of broken cranks also but have not seen any recent failures reported. Quality varies from one engine to the other even if they were made side by side. My 812cc Punsun seems to be hanging on but does vibrate a lot more when running above 3000rpm Once I pass 55mph it starts to smoke and turns to a full black cloud at 70mph but the turbo I'm installing will fix that and hopefully note blow it up. So all that said it should work but don't lug it down and don't run it flat out all the time and you should be good. These engines are $750-$850 USD from the factories the rest is shipping etc. So if the price is right and the seller is solid I would say go for it.

As far as I know nobody has tried the 25hp version so far.
This one is fairly new and to many of the earlier versions broke.
So ... nobody knows for true, but it's under a bad sign.

And to be correct. The watercooled engines from Kipor are not another "version". They are complete different engines.
We have the air-cooled Punsun and the water-cooled Kipor. Both coming from china.
Only a few Kipors were used, but these keep going strong, while nearly all of the Punsun build broke. Sad but true.

Yes I heard the 25hp version were breaking cranks, unless they fixed the problem. I think to get the extra stroke to increase cc's they were making the big end journals smaller which was the weak link.

OK ,I reckon I might take it gently with this one .They are $1600 here which verges on decent money for me .... too much to waste .

Buy the used one...... order a new "upgraded" crank from manufacture?
