Hi there Kapis - as far as I know, I'm the only New Zealander (Kiwi) taking an interest in this forum. Diesel bikes are not a big thing in NZ yet, I have seen a couple of Enfield diesels (at a Cold Kiwi rally some years ago) and I have seen a home built diesel at the annual Classic Festival at Pukekohe a couple of times,it is quite a neat little unit styled as a road racer (a bit tongue in cheek methinks),I think the owner uses it as a pit bike. I have also seen a clone powered GS 550 Suzuki built in Cambridge, not far from where I live (Matamata). Which reminds me, I promised Stuart a while ago I would get some pictures and a story on it, I guess I'd better get off my butt and do it. My current rides are an XJR 1200 Yamaha and the Kubota powered Diesel bike - see my member introduction where Rafael has kindly posted several articles on the bike from other web sites. So far I've done 49,000 km on the diesel (since 1994), and a lot more on other bikes! My current project is a Punsun V2 diesel bike, so far I have accumulated various parts (gearbox/clutch assy, (RGV 250) and a GSXR 750 for just about everything else I need) and I'm in the process of designing the frame. I promise - I'll post progress photos of the build when it gets under way. I am looking forward to seeing your build on the forum.
