I've been looking looking around at engines again and thinking about building something to go the distance with. When you live in a country that has instructions like drive 1500 miles and turn right the old hardtail is not built for it. Found these links

Re: Cool Engine Option
for reference purpose....... this engine is a Lombardini rebadged as Kohler. Good possiblity that CVT unit is factory Lombardini put together too.
Side note- this is same lombardini Heiko uses (w/out factory cvt unit)

Re: Cool Engine Option
The CVT is a CVTech unit I don't know about the gearbox bit. They do have a smaller unit that someone had posted last year that also sported a CVtech unit. You will probably see this pop up in someones UTV much like Arctic Cat uses in their ATV. The fact that companys are starting to package complete drivetrains is cool. The right combination for use in a motorcycle will show up sooner or later. The big problem is cost if it were a production build no big deal but for the one off just for fun Diesel projects most are built on the cheap. If one was willing to pay the price for a custon Harley style bike then the cost would be no issue.

Re: Cool Engine Option
that would make since since it appears that Canada's? CVtech supplies the CVT's for some of the 3cyl diesel cars on the side of the ocean where this engine is actually made.DieselFly wrote:The CVT is a CVTech unit I don't know about the gearbox bit. .....

Here's Kohler's site:

Their site is pretty informative; maybe worth checking out? I'm new to this though, so excuse me if you all have checked Kohler out.
