I am very interested in the mercedes gearbox engineering that has gone into that bike, I wonder what gearbox he started with, and what modifications he did, its all a bit vague in the document.

I'd love to know too. The output shaft appears to be hollow but we don't know that for a fact that a push rod is indeed utilized to actuate the clutch. And it's quite unconventional in that the clutch is afixed to the other end. It also appears as though he's using the later style Honda clutch that has the arm in the outer cover to "lift" the clutch as opposed to it being pushed by the center rod. That later style clutch is more easily adapted since it doesn't require a hollow main staft. Note the example in the link below that was posted here on the board previously. The pictures pretty well tell the story. Or you can run it through an on-line translator for more detail. For the record it's Hungarian.

Ah yes, I see what you mean, that seems to be quite a build that you linked to, hes modified the crankshaft with a spline to match the clutch, and the clutch straight on the crank shaft, which means when in neutral the chain/belt doesnt spin, pretty cool. It opens up the possibility of gearbox use if the clutch actuation can be separate, that way you only have to figure out how to get the clutch to sit on the input shaft :).

Many thanks
