Hello good people
its been a while since I posted on here, but I am back
I didnt get to build a trike in the end, so had to get rid of the escort van (to the scrapper )
and I still havent got a diesel bike either.
I have a CBR600F now, which is fun (but does 45mpg)
but I do have a diesel on the road.
a 200Tdi Land Rover Series 3
straight piped, big intercooler, tweaked fuelling....so its pushing about 130bhp (needs fuelling tweaking properly)
and its keeping my love of diesels alive
-10c over christmas and it started with no glowplugs (they arent connected up)
And I have started up the 2 stationary diesels out the back (Petter PAZ1 and Petter AVA1)
so next stage now, is to think about building a cheap diesel bike for commuting.
and possibly run it on SVO/WVO (once its on the road and working nicely)
obviously for commuting I want something economical, so a 10~20hp diesel will be more than adequate.
and possibly running a 5 or 6 speed gearbox from a modified japanese bike. (the rolling frame would be from the same bike, its just whether I go for a manual or CVT....manual would be nicer really...)
either that, or a car/van engine and run that to a bike gearbox.......
and not worry about economy too much.....
so thats where things stand
Igor.

Re: Been a while
Welcome back. Hope it works out for you
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.
Re: Been a while
Thanks
I've been scouring the ads for old diesel engines....
not had much luck as of yet though...
