yanmar 2t75

Post by caddyman »

Hi All, looking for an engine for my first diesel build, would this yanmar 2t75 (16hp@ 2900rpm) be suitable?? , got a ural donor bike, or can look at building frame etc....
regards chris :D

HP looks good but the Revs wouldn't get you much speed at all. You maybe able to tweek the guvnor up to 3800? Then you might just be able to keep up with the traffic and be safer.

Would something like a Kubota D600 be a better bet, or stick to single cylinder?

I think that would be more suitable yes. The Ural is quite large and would be better with a multi cylinder engine. Checkout the other builds using Ural frames for tips. Much better pulling power with all those pistons working for you :D
