I think this is one of the early ones as the later cars had 800cc diesels. Never seen one of the smaller ones..

I was under the impression that 599cc was only for gasoline, and all of the diesels are 799cc.

(Annoyingly, the US just gets the W451 999cc gasoline model, no diesels. Canada got the W450 799cc diesel, but their W451 is the same as ours.)

Someone mentioned there was an earlier diesel version but not sure of the size really. Maybe it was smaller? Anyhow, I think (hope) I've got the bigger 800cc

Id imagine they wouldn't have much get up n go in a small car, wonder how they'd go in a light M/C. For the price you could wreck the vehicle and fund a project !!

all the diesels are 800cc as far as i know. there are indeed a few versions of the engine but still 800cc except the forfour which had a 1500cc engine. think there was talk of a 1 litre coming out, dunno if it ever happened.
