Re: More problem!!! Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Problem probably solved!!! In the beginning of the project i consulted this older man that still has his own company about some questions of shafts and bearings, he´s an absolute expert when it comes to impossible fixes, bearings, and shafts and machine work. He got really intrested in the project a...

More problem!!! Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Today i found out that the shaft on my Yanmar L100 is 25 mm not 1 inch... Which gives me 0,4 mm extra clearance. So the Comet clutch is very loose on the shaft. Both up and down and back and forth. Worst is the movement back and forth, which will unscrew the bolt in no time... This i found out just ...

Free copper? In this day and age? In Holland we've got copper robbers, stealing the wiring of everything and anything, including lightning guidance, railway lighting/signaling cables and what not. Nice country, Canada 8) In sweden as well! They even strip old houses on copper rainpipes when the own...

This Yamaha engine is very different from the Yanmar L100.
No shaft, taller and thinner. More good looking actually.
Looks perfect for a shaftdriven bike like a Ural/ Dnepr/ BMW.

Yamaha Diesel

Got a tip on a Yanmar engine in a scrapyard. When i found it it was´nt a Yanmar but a Yamaha diesel. The engine has powered a generator called Yamaha EDA 4700T. The engine is working and i can get it really cheap. The engine is aircooled, quite tall, single cylinder and start is by hand. There was n...

Thanks Diesel Dave you just have given me a few ideas.

What about Xenon lights that you can fit in your headlight , are those more energy efficent as well? Only thing i have heard is that they take a lot of power when you light them up.

Sprocket vs. swingarm...!

My biggest sprocket for the CVT shaft is smaller than the swingarm is thick. Whats the best solution for this problem? A second sprocket that lifts the chain over the swingarm or a motorcross type chain guide (correct word?) Hope you guys understand what i´m writing, the bike is 80 km away so i can´...

The idea been in my mind since reading an article in a English bike magazine about a Robin Enfield. When i ...

A short update, this picture shows not only my girlfriend with a strange grin on her lips but also the frame of the Honda VF. The status is that the bike is awaiting being welded together by a proffessional. http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/5089/dscn0028yi0.th.jpg Anyway it´s far too cold outside ...

Hi Nibbler I've build a Changfa186 ( YanmarL100 clone ) in a MZ ETZ 251 Saxon Tour frame, using a comet 44 series torque converter bought from Duells in Finland. It runs very well, but holds only an avarage of 70 km/h. Fuel economy is around 43km/l. I use it quite often. Has now given me over 2000 ...

New member & new project.

Hello! Been a fan of diesel bikes since i read about a Robin Enfield in a british bike magazine, well over 10 years ago. And after saving up some courage i desided to have a go myself. So i have just bought a Honda VF 750 F -83 with a trashed engine. My plan is to fit an Yanmar L100 together with a ...
