I wish it was like that here. Indeed, the cops are all about power trips and giving tickets. Last year I even got a ticket for driving a couch down the street!! I couldn't believe the cop didn't even smirk. The kind of people that the police force attract really appalls me. I went down to SGI (gover...

Police Encounter

I just got back from a bloody cop fining me $140. For one thing, I didn't have a tail light, and also only had a learners licence (it was midnight). So whatever, the bugger gives me a ticket. But after that, he goes on about how driving in winter is EXTREMEY dangerous and illegal!!! I'm still utterl...

Yeah, thats a good point. But I have two of these 6hp engines, and they both behave exactly the same. They appear to have good compression. I read on the main site that one guy had to disassemble his and get new rings. But if both of mine are the same, I think its just poor engineering. I've heard r...

Now that I think of your situation more, the centrifugal might be worth a try. How low is your first gear? If its low enough, it probably won't burn the clutch out too quickly. But running the engine slow and slipping would definetely wreck it, so obviously no idling around (which I like!). Consider...

They work fine if your not stopping and starting often. I used one on my bike for a while and it burned up quick. I had it geared for a top speed of 20mph for testing and it still got extremely hot. My plan was to use it temporarily until I got a CVT. But It didn't last, so I'm now using a simple be...

Glow plugs for diesel clone?

Has anybody ever installed a glow plug into a yanmar clone? Seems like the only alternative for cold starting.
Does anybody have anybody have experience with them in general? Are they worth it?

Really? Wow! My bike is the worst starting vehicle I have ever seen in my entire life!. Do you have the 10 or 6hp. I've got the 6hp, and am wondering if thats the problem??? Even if its in a 22 degree celcius heated shop it won't start. The ONLY thing that will get this bloody thing to start is at l...

Yeah, I agree that a transmission makes or breaks the performance. The only problem is I have no money whatsoever. A comet would be good if I could afford it. What I would like over anything though is a 6 or more speed transmission. I live in the praries, so shifting isn't done very often. Has anybo...

Diesel enduro test drive video

http://youtube.com/watch?v=1eYZZ3ZhBII If that link doesn't work, type in diesel motorcycle test For the time being, I can't afford a comet clutch. So I decided to invent something stupid but cheap. A two speed belt tentioner transmission with suicide shift lever. It works great, but takes some gett...

That is one of the coolest sounding bikes I've heard! Looks to be made like a tank. I wouldn't change a thing.

That sounds awesome! Tomorrow morning I'll put everything back together, and will try to licence it. I should be getting my comet 40 in a few weeks, but for now will use a centrifugal. Should I wait until I get the comet, or do you want pictures now?

Haha, yeah it was mostly to prove everyone I know wrong. They were all positive I was crazy and could never get it to work! Just painted the frame tonight, and will completely finish it this weekend (besides the clutch...). I'll get some more pictures soon. I'm glad to be part of the nuthouse. Its a...

1973 yamaha enduro 6hp conversion

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/8065/p2210409br7.th.jpg I'm new to this forum, and biking in general. You guys inspired me to build this bike last week. I'm currently driving a mountain bike with a 5hp engine to school, so I figured something more substantial would be nice. I'm not sure what the...
