I am doing a enfield/yanmar clone conversion and have got to sorting the throttle, my clone has the fixed speed regulator, does anybody know where in the uk I could get the remote variable speed regulator assembly, I've tried my engine supplier Pumps UK without luck and yanmar require part numbers ....

what's the advantage of using a variator over a conventional gearbox

I'm looking to buy a changfa 186 engine for an enfield bullet conversion, where in the UK can I purchase one and what output shaft type is best, also could anybody tell me it's charging circuit output in amps?
