Here's a picture of an adapter nut I made up for fitting a Karcoma fuel tap to a Dnepr fuel tank. Over the years 1950's - 1995 the Karcoma and similar Germa, Everbest petcocks were fitted on BMWs. The post 1973 version is most reliable. A rebuild consists of replacing one rubber seal/gasket. I've used these petcocks for almost 30 years and have never had to rebuild one.
The petcock has a left hand thread. The adapter nut has a left hand thread in one end and right hand thread in the other, same as the nut used on a BMW. This allows tightening the petcock in any desired position.
The petcock has a strainer with a built-in crush washer/gasket which is pushed into the tank outlet before installing the adapter.
Current prices are petcock ~$42US, rebuild seal ~$10US, strainer/gasket $7US,
Next I need to come up with a petcock with a injector spill port return connection.
Hmmm...
