Green Diesel Injector System

Post by oilburner »

From the Too Good To Be True Department, or Move Over Common Rail.

From Green Diesel Corp, an Australian company (bold/underlined by me):
A unitised system, each injector comes with its own inbuilt pump. Green Diesel Fuel injection system has significally altered the combustion process by altering Thermal Exchange, thus reducing the temperature of combustion and injecting at a designed pressure of up to 160,000psi
For those salivating for a diesel version of the new 1600cc Triumph twin:
Green Diesel Corp has successfully converted many diesel engines and petrol engines to diesel using the benefit of this new technology. One million miles of Durability Testing shows no wear and tear on the fuel system.

Thatd be pretty sweet if its true. Just screw an injector into my petrol bike and wayhey! Though would you not need to strengthen the bottom end and up the compression ratio? I can't find any more info on the company CEO.

An uneducated guess is that if the compression of the petrol engine can be raised sufficiently by exchanging the pistons, the claimed altered combustion process and elimination of diesel knock may cause in petrol engine-like stresses on the bottom end, meaning the engine might not require any changes to the bottom end or cylinder head modifications. That's a long shot but one never knows. Perhaps one could try the Contact Us link on their website?

They say the electrics are simple and work with most existing engine management systems. I suspect they have a basic ECU setup for use with petrol conversions.
