Since it is FWD, the easiest method would be to retain the gearbox and mate it to a shaft drive bike frame.

You need approx 1:1 ratio for that bevel drive and sadly this rules out using one from a bike as they are all approx 1:3 ratio reduction.UAofE wrote:Since it is FWD, the easiest method would be to retain the gearbox and mate it to a shaft drive bike frame.
If you use a gearbox + transmission from say a BMW R series or Motoguzzi then your diesel engine wont rev high enough to get a usable speed / RPM for the power of the engine you are considering. However I believe there were was a batch of taller ration BMW bevel drives made recently to allow this but I'm not sure about the general availability of them or the exact ratio they were made to.
There is extensive description and photos showing how I fitted two smaller engines to a BMW R series gearbox in the following build diaries if you want an insight into the engineering steps and tooling you need to do such a conversion.

Kubota Z482 which is plodding on with unnerving reliability. Three years so far.
