Basically any of the Chinese Yanmar clones with electric start is a good and easy cheap start as parts are readily available.
Other people have fitted larger engines but a lot depends on your facilities/skills and what you actually want out of a diesel bike re performance.
You are about the same age as me so if you don't mind bumbling along at 50mph a single cylinder Yanclone will do.
Basically performance will be about 125cc level or the smaller 50's/60's 250cc British bikes of old (BSA C10 etc)
If you go the single cylinder route there is plenty of info on the forums but in the UK Henry Price is the man for parts or a partial conversion inc getting your frame mods.
You can buy the parts or get your bike completely converted( app £2000) depending on how much work you can or want to do or buy a complete bike?? £4500 :)
