Battery for diesel Tiger Kubota

Been asking around for info to make a decision off of. Diesel Dave from here with his Heiko Tiger uses a high quality Motobatt specified for the OEM Tiger and says it works fine. Thanks for that info Dave.

This does bring up other questions though since the Heiko bikes use the Lombardini and my project is a Kubota. Such as are the crankover speeds needed for a Lombardini different; or not based on:

. Kubota compression ration is 23.5, LDW 103 is 22.8 so that is close?
. The Lombardini has Direct Injection and the Kubota Indirect Injection. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Does anyone know of a particular machine on EU side of the world that uses that Lomardini LDW1003? engine. A a mower or fork lift orrr? . On the US side it would be a Kohler KLDW (or KDW?) 1003

. Assume that LDW has no decompression system on start up... just tough fast starter like the Kubota?
. Does the LDW have Glow plugs? Kubota D722 does

. A walker mower usking the D722 that will go in this tiger calls for 340CCA battery. That battery is too large physically for Tiger
. Trimuph Tiger's Motobatt equivilant is 200 CCA and fits nicely?
. A xxxxx? With Lombardini LDW 1003 calls for xxx? CCA battery? ( Would be interesting to see what battery they call for and its CCA etc etc)

I have an mbtx20u in my yanclone. I could probably crank it for 5 minutes heh. 280cca and I pre heat the injector lines for 2 minutes or so before starting.

Yes it does....all 3 of them :D
ahhhhhhh.... so far then sounds like the the energy neccessary to start would be similar between the LDW Lombardini and D722 Kubota..... unless their is a difference in engergy needed to start based on differences between IDI and DI....

I would say that cranking forces would have more to do with cc's and that di vs. Idi wouldn't mean anything. And the ldw is much bigger than the boti. Anything that is adequate for the ldw should be more than enough for a d722.

The only issue could be that the kubota Will need to be preheated with glow plugs pretty much every start whereas the di lombardini I'm guessing can frequently be started without glow plugs unless it is quite cold. That would be an issue of battery ampere hours rather than cca.
