Splinter extraction on the cheap

Just a reminder that if you pick of a splinter in the workshop (as I have) you can make a paste from Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom salts) & apply it under a plaster or poultice to draw the thing out. Takes a couple of days they say.
I tried the sideways scrape with a blade with no success but fibreglass is hard to get out.
