Off-topic : Peugeot 406 HDi particulate filter

Post by mark_in_manchester »

Hi Folks

This is off-topic, but I've been contributing quite a bit lately so I'm presuming on our host's generosity...

I'm looking at a Peugeot 406 HDi estate with 100k on it - but - our use is more short journeys than long, and I'm worried about expense and hassle with particulate filters. Anyone have a view? They sell them on ebay for £150, but on net there are lots of dealer-horror-stories involving 10x that expense.

Our 1997 Skoda Felcia estate with VW 1.9 diesel is starting to fall apart badly, and wife may soon need pacifying. I'll make sure to offer the (nice basic no electronics or turbo) engine on here first if it is to be allowed to die, should anyone wish to follow Mouse's extreme creation.

The Busmar-on-dieselbike option is coming along, but without a car, so is divorce.

cheers

Mark
