Common Rail Fuel Injection

I doubt you will find any production small displacement nonroad engines out there with a common rail injection system - heck - they haven't even progressed beyond stationary timing yet. However, with the Tier 4 emission standards due to kick in next year, the noose will start to tighten for the (legal) low cost small engines, and some significant changes will have to be made if they are to survive. I think common rail if a ways off yet for nonroad engines under a litre displacement. When they do arrive they probably won't be cheap.
