enfield with watercooled twin engine

As i wondered how steve's kubota from somerset did it, with these engines the flywheel is located at the right/drive side.
So a sprocket is bolted on the flywheel i guess, but how can one construct the primary case at its place? you cannot bolt the innter primary to the flywheel...

Can the engine not be turned so its output is on the left?

I can't find a jackshaft in that earlier post. In fact, it would appear in the pics below that Steve has the drive sprocket mounted to the flywheel and then uses the stock Enfield outer cover. The 4 speed is in it's original placement suggesting he's coming directly off the drive sprocket to the clutch. If so, you might think the engine would need to be offset a bit to the right, which might explain the battery counter balance to the left (well, of course there's also the reality that there's no other place to mount the battery). And yet, it you compare the downtube to the exhaust it seems to be nicely centered. We really need Steve to write up his build.

So it seems the flywheel is in the same oilbath as the primary chain?
Yes, indeed i would be thankfull for some details from steve...

I would hope the primary drive doesn't share the oilbath, but sealed instead from the flywheel. Otherwise, the flywheel is submerged in a great deal of oil and thus robbing a great deal of power - from an engine producing marginal power (for our purposes). Steve, where are you when we need you?
