Northern Ireland has a slightly different system when it comes to MOTs. There are a handful of approved test centres, you have to make an appointment and the test has a lot of automated components for testing lights, brakes, suspension etc. (compared to turning up at the local "Kwik Fit" and having some guy poking your rusty bits with a screwdriver... ).
Assuming the worse case scenario and I end up having to modify the frame, how do I tell if I need to get it MOT'd or taken for a MSVA?
When I've taken bikes for an MOT they haven't checked the emissions, but the FAQ for the MSVA - http://www.dvtani.gov.uk/vehicletesting/msvafaqs.asp - says they check the emissions. Will a Yan-clone pass the emissions test?
