Offset Enfield sprocket?

Post by Anorak_ian »

I'm looking for an offset sprocket for the 5 speed Enfield box, anyone know if they are available?
Will Harley sprockets fit the Enfield 5 speed?
Cheers
Ian

Answer: No, and no they don't. :(

shouldn't be too difficult to fabricate using one old sprocket for the boss and a new one for the drive. If you did it would mean you could run o ring chain in an Electra. ATM there is not enough clearance on the primary drive side. Naturally you will need to shim the wheel to align the sprockets.

It's a toss up at the moment whether I fit the 5 speed or fix up and use the old 4 speed.
If I go ahead and use the 5 speed I have a 23 tooth Harley dished sprocket (£10) to weld up to the 17 tooth Enfield. Talon wanted £53 for a special made up sprocket for the 5 speed (not offset).

It's all fun and games again, racing it back to the road in a bit of a panic. :D

Are you on a clock to get it rolling again?

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, the good weather is here and my bikes in bits again (hopefully for the last time).

Cornwall is just 2 miles down the road, with its pretty villages and long winding open country roads, it's just what the diesel is crying out for. :D
