Taper Lock example of

Post by Stuart »

Thought I'd post up a couple of shots of Guzzi Ray's 1" taper lock he's using to start the final drive from his yanmar L70AE engine. It's a keyway shaft and takes various sprockets. These are a good solution if you're stuck for a way to come off the engine.

I have also bought a 1210 1" for my Hatz 462 with a duplex sprocket: useful for Enfields. Will post pics when I get my grubby hands on it.
'92 Enfield + Hatz 1B40: street legal, weld up stainless exhaust, check engine rpm and change final drive sprocket.

I love taperlock. Any size shaft to any size pulley/sprocket (within reason). Still adjustable for alignment after installation. Chop and change ratios. Cool stuff.

Is there info anywhere that would tell me what torque to put the screws up to?
