Please bare with me as I'm a novice at this
Is it possible to to use a CVT system off a scooter with the rear pulley mounted on an Albion g/box so I get a bigger spread of gearing? I was also wondering if a torque converter from an auto car transmission would work as a cvt?
I'm not looking a speed demon just a bike capable of doing 50/60 mph most of the time.
CVT plus g/box?

Re: CVT plus g/box?
Well, Honda did it with the CB400A, and a 750 version..
they used a car style torque converter, and a 2 speed gearbox giving low/hig ranges... the 400 was strangely nice to ride. despite losing a shed load of power thru the transmission....

The loss of power is the thing worrying me as most diesels don't have a shedload to loose
Early days yet anyway, still looking for a suitable diesel engine. hinking of around 6 to 10 hp ? is that enough?

6-10 isn't enough in my book, especially with a CVT. You'll get more all round from a twin cylinder bike giving closer to 20 hp.
